  五台山位列中华十大名山、中国佛教四大名山、世界五大佛教圣地之一。五台山是中国唯一一个青庙黄庙交相辉映的佛教道场。现存寺院47处，台内39处，台外8处，其中多敕建寺院，多朝皇帝前来参拜。著名的有：显通寺、塔院寺、菩萨顶、南山寺、黛螺顶、广济寺、万佛阁等。五台山是一个融自然风光、历史文物、古建艺术、佛教文化、民俗风情、避暑休养为一体的旅游风景区，被评为国家AAAAA级旅游景区、国家重点风景名胜区、国家地质公园、国家自然与文化双重遗产。

  Mount Wutai is one of the top ten famous mountains in China, the four famous Buddhist mountains in China and one of the five major Buddhist holy places in the world. Mount Wutai is the only Buddhist monastery in China where the green Temple and the yellow Temple complement each other. There are 47 monasteries, 39 inside and 8 outside the platform, many of which were built and many of the emperors came to visit. The famous are: Xiantong Temple, ayuan Temple, Bodhisattva Top, Nanshan Temple, DaTop, Guangji Temple, Ten Thousand Buddha Pavilion and so on. Mount Wutai is a scenic spot integrating natural scenery, historical relics, ancient construction art, Buddhist culture, folk customs and summer recuperation. It has been rated as national AAAAA level scenic spot, national key scenic spot, national geological park, and national natural and cultural heritage.
